My mother in-law broug
ht over a collage frame of photos a few weeks ago for me to scan. I was lucky to get four photos of her Italian relatives.
This is Fiorita Giuditta Teresa Ursetta, born 10 August 1879 in Sorbo San Bastile, Italy. She married Tomaso Fratto. Teresa died 23 Feb 1921 in Chicago due to difficulty in childbirth a few weeks prior. Teresa gave birth to twins on 6 February 1921.
Writing this post made me wonder who helped Tomaso with his children. At the time Teresa died, he had newborn twins, a 5 year old, 8 year old, 10 year old, 13 year old, and 16 year old. And….when Tomaso died in 1935, the twins would have been about 14 years old. I wonder who had guardianship responsibilities of them.
Hmmmm, new mysteries to investigate!!
